7-Day Prayer Plan
A week of prayer that takes about ten minutes a day. Each day has a verse, a short reflection, and one action. Start today, however you are feeling.
Day 1: Honesty
Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, God, and know my heart! Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.
Today: Sit quietly for two minutes. Ask God to show you one thing — one habit, one wound, one worry — He wants to deal with this week. Write it down.
Day 2: Thanksgiving
Psalm 100:4-5
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, and bless his name. For Yahweh is good. His loving kindness endures forever, his faithfulness to all generations.
Today: List five specific things you are thankful for. Not categories — specific moments from the last 24 hours. Thank Him out loud for each.
Day 3: Surrender
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Today: Name one decision you are wrestling with. Hand it to God in a single sentence. Then leave it with Him for today.
Day 4: For Others
Philippians 2:3-4
Doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.
Today: Pick three people. Pray one sentence for each. Then text or call one of them today to say you prayed.
Day 5: Confession
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Today: Name what is between you and God. Specifically. Confess it once, receive His forgiveness once, and do not pick it back up.
Day 6: Listening
1 Samuel 3:9-10
Therefore Eli said to Samuel, Go, lie down. It shall be, if he calls you, that you shall say, Speak, Yahweh; for your servant hears.
Today: Set a timer for five minutes. No words. Just sit with God and listen. If a thought comes, write it down.
Day 7: Send
Matthew 5:14-16
You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do you light a lamp, and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Today: Pray for one specific person God has placed in your life who does not yet know Him. Ask Him for one small step you can take this week to show His love.
